Chesterfield County Divorce Records

The Chesterfield County Circuit Court is the sole venue for divorce cases in Chesterfield County. Records from these cases are maintained by the court and are publicly accessible, consistent with Titles 16.1 and 17.1 of the Virginia Code, except for any information or documents specifically designated as exempt. A divorce court file may contain documents such as divorce decrees, petitions, support orders, property division orders, financial statements, settlement agreements, and post-decree modification orders.

Divorce case information can be viewed online via the Virginia Judiciary’s Circuit Court Case Information system or requested from the Circuit Clerk’s Office in person, by phone, or via mail.
